New Generation Cars Transmission Repair SERVICESThe manual transmission (also known as a stick shift or standard transmission) has a driver-operated clutch and a moving gear selector. The five-speed manual transmission allows the driver to select the appropriate or the preferable gear at any time while the car is starting, running or stopping. The automatic transmissions do not need a five-speed gear box. Once the car has been started the driving becomes completely automatic. It is slightly different with the semi-automatic transmissions, where the driving is still automatically operated but the driver is allowed to manually select the current gear. Every engine has a redline. This is the maximum RPM (rotation per minute) and if forced above the fixed rate it will explode. Also, engines have fixed maximum for horsepower and torque. Trough the transmission the vehicle is manipulating the gear ratio between the engine and the drive wheels according to the speed. At New generation Cars we inspect your car for free and specialize in transmission repair and replacement. |
